From a designer's viewpoint, this project was an exciting opportunity to blend modern technology with real-world experiences. Through research, internal collaboration, and on-site UX studies, we designed a feature-rich solution that seamlessly integrates into the existing infrastructure. The project culminated in a successful app launch, winning awards for its innovative approach, and showing how digital and real-world experiences can coexist to enhance visitor satisfaction.
Pain Points:
• Visitor Experience: The existing setup was inadequate in terms of engaging and educating guests of all ages, leading to a less satisfactory visit.
• Navigation: Visitors heavily relied on paper-based maps and guides, resulting in queues and confusion.
• Staff Burden: Aquarium staff were overburdened by the number of visitors needing assistance and information.
• Integration: Fitting new features into the existing app and aquarium infrastructure posed a significant challenge.
New Features Suggested:
• Animal Recognition: Allows visitors to recognize any animal in the aquarium through an AI-powered system, enhancing educational value and reducing reliance on physical guides.
• Crowd Flow Control: Utilizes Harman Heat Map technology to manage visitor flow, reducing queues, organizing events, and improving overall visitor experience.
• AR Stories: Provides an interactive blend of digital and real worlds, offering a digital guide with personalized content in multiple languages and mini-games to educate and entertain visitors.
